We could consider also a wedding ceremony as a public event rather than something personal only between the bride and the groom. In some cases, couples give importance to their traditions in planning their wedding. Just like for example, if the family of the couple are living in Emerald Isle, then it means that they have also to practice observing some Irish wedding traditions.

Just like for instance, the type of jewelry has always been a part of a traditional Ireland practice. It entails the beginning of an engagement and also the start of the wedding vows. A claddagh ring is one of the best examples of a traditional and important symbol for Irish people particularly being a part of a bridal setting. It composes of three parts and in every part, it has meaning that is very special. A pair of hands only means friendship, a crown for being loyally true and having a heart with real love. A claddagh is a very vital option for Irish weddings.

It's either by just mere belief or it's because of the work of time, but many Irish wedding traditions are believed to bring up good luck particularly for the couple. Just like for example, if a bride wore her bridal jewelry, particularly her wedding earrings, then it tells that it brings to the bride charm all throughout the day.

Some beliefs also have been known that the bride must have the right choice in choosing the woman who would put on her veil on the wedding ceremony. She must choose the woman who is happy of her married life. If it happens that it would rain, then it would be a very lucky day for the couple.

Even though Catholic weddings are the most widely-practiced for the Irish people, the kind of rite called handfasting is part of the tradition that can promote more on other wedding traditions. "Tie the knot" is originally from the phrase handfasting. In this kind of rite, the bride and the groom would be facing each other with their hands crossed and their feet clasped on their front. Their wrists would be tied with a ribbon and this would symbolize infinity. Many years ago, this kind of rite was done every time people celebrate harvest festival.

Irish people also give their best when it comes to the kind of food and drink that they are going to prepare on their wedding. The Irish wedding cake traditionally is very important in any wedding. It plays a very important role of that big event and without it; the wedding couldn't be called as a special one.

Many Irish people believe that wedding celebrations are very big festive parties in their country. As part of their tradition, things would get started at the reception. Right after the reception, they have an open house invitation to everyone and this would resume the big celebration and the enjoyment. Hosts would be the one to provide the light fare and the kind of music to be played while the guests would be in charged in bringing some Irish whiskies. As the party continues, those young guests could proceed to the club and continue enjoying all night.

Normally speaking, there some wedding celebrations that still practice the European norm such as those who would have their celebration for more hours or more days, and this happen particularly in Ireland. So, if you are already thinking of attending an Irish wedding celebration, then you have be ready to witness a special kind of excitement.

Irish wedding traditions are more on social relevance than a personal choice. For Irish people, they believe that something good will happen to their marriage when they accord it with their heritage. Heritage is connected to their lives and it is something that keeps life meaningful for them.

It is the fabric of their existence.
